Titanfall

Systems: Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows
Release Date: March 11, 2014

Why we’re excited: No doubt 2014 will bring more first-person shooter games than we could list, but none has drawn more hype than Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall. And for good reason: The creative minds behind this game are the same ones responsible for taking Call of Duty from serviceable World War II shooter to billion-dollar industry behemoth. Gameplay videos showcase the mech-warrior monsters known as Titans that add a whole new level of strategy to the typical run-and-gun gameplay  mechanics, but it’s the incredible graphics and smooth frame rate that have people so excited: Games that look this good aren’t supposed to run so seamlessly.

Given the bad blood between Activision and Respawn’s Jason West and Vince Zampella, and the fact that it took home a record six E3 Critics Awards (Best in Show, Best Original Game, Best Console Game, Best PC Game, Best Action Game and Best Online Multiplayer), we’re expecting great things from Titanfall.
