Teens Helping Kids is a group of teenagers who reside in Cameron County, Texas, whose mission is to raise money to fund projects through existing charities that help children in our area.  Teens Helping Kids was founded in 2007 by five high school juniors who decided to raise money to underwrite and hold a celebrity sports dinner that would raise money for local charity organizations that help children in our area.  In turn, Teens Helping kids selected Cameron County Children’s Advocacy Centers, also known as Monica’s House and Maggie’s House as their main charity.

Monica’s House and Maggie’s House is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advocate and serve child victims of abuse through prevention, intervention and treatment.  The houses are dedicated to the memories of two little girls from our Community, Monica Castillo and Maggie Dittman who were tragic victims of child abuse.   The memories of these little girls have served to galvanize and unite communities in Cameron County in the fight of child abuse

It would be wonderful if we could eliminate the incidence of child abuse and keep our children safe from harm. The Cameron County Children’s Advocacy Centers, Inc. – Monica’s House & Maggie’s House advocate for child victims and have helped children begin the healing process for many years. Contributions from warm-hearted, community-oriented individuals like you have made this possible.

Once again, we are calling upon you to help us continue our work.  We invite you to support our “Sport Celebrity Waiter Dinner” with Walt Garrison, former Dallas Cowboy & Friends: Houston Texans players and cheerleaders. The event will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Amigoland Event Center, 1010 Mexico Blvd. in Brownville, TX. Festivities will begin at 7pm.  This sports theme night promises to be full of fun and excitement. Table sponsors range from $1000 to $2,500. Seating for 10 guests and the price includes dinner, spirits, and a live auction. Sponsors are responsible for decorating their own table with a sport theme in mind. There will be a prize for the best decorated table at the event.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated. With your support, the CCCAC can continue helping families restore their lives and create a safer community for all of us.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Monica’s House at (956) 986-2770.
