Dr. Omel Cardenas, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist, recently hosted ribbon-cutting ceremonies to celebrate the opening of CARDENAS Dental Implants & Oral Surgery. His new practice is located on the 3rd floor of Valley Baptist Hospital’s Medical Arts Pavilion. His practice offers oral surgery services such as wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, teeth in a day, biopsies and other oral surgical services to adults as well as children. Dr. Cardenas uses state-of-the-art 3D imaging to help diagnose potential issues more accurately and non-invasively. This imaging equipment means patients don’t have to make a separate appointment with a radiologist, which makes scheduling oral surgery more convenient for his patients.
After more than 11 years of practice in North Texas, Dr. Cardenas returned to the Rio Grande Valley where he grew up. “Being from the Valley, I am happy to serve this area and plan to expand to Brownsville in the future,” he says. Though he has attended to a satisfied customer base over the last six months, Dr. Cardenas welcomes new patients. “I’m here to address the dental and oral surgical needs of the community,” he says.
Dr. Cardenas speaks English and Spanish and is a member of the RGV Dental Society and a supporter of Dentists Who Care, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and oral health care for low-income families. In addition to seeing patients at his new CARDENAS Dental Implants & Oral Surgery location at 2121 Pease Street #314, Medical Arts Pavilion in Harlingen, Dr. Cardenas is also on staff at Valley Baptist Hospitals.
Dr. Omel Cardenas graduated with honors in 2005 from MLK/Charles R. Drew University in California after attending Texas A&M University Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry.
