Edinburg Bobcat varsity cheerleaders recognized for national championship at Commissioners Court
EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County Commissioners Court recently recognized the teamwork and talent of the Edinburg High School Bobcat varsity cheerleaders with a resolution in honor of the team’s fourth consecutive National Cheerleaders Association championship.
The team is comprised of Captains Julie Mendoza and Yessi Molina, and team members Seniors Juan Banda, Kimberly De Leon, Breanna Pena and Aissa Velasquez; Juniors Arrik Bazan, Sarah De la Fuente, Denise Garza, Alexa Olguin, JoVonne Prado, Emilee Ramos and Samantha Torres; Sophomores Karina Alfaro, Karissa De Leon, Natalie Martinez, Casey Pena, Bryana Perez, Maria Reyes, Miranda Velazquez, and Marcus Villanueva; and Freshmen Pauline Moralez, Nadia Rodriquez and Fatima Torres. The coaches are Eva Guerra-Perez and Valerie Cortez. The choreographer coaches are Danielle Valdez, Dion Luna, Caleb Echols, and Alex Tanguma.
The team was honored at the March 7 meeting of Commissioners Court.
