Rio Grande Valley becomes Airlines 100th destination
Fares as low as $49
HARLINGEN, TEXAS – Low-cost carrier, Frontier Airlines announced the addition of new low-fare, non-stop flights from Harlingen’s Valley International Airport (HRL) with the only non-stop flights to Chicago-O’Hare (ORD) and Denver International Airport (DEN). The addition of flights to Harlingen represents the 100th city in the airline’s network and this continues to support Frontier’s mission of delivering low-fares to travelers nationwide. Service will begin this November and to celebrate these flights, Frontier is offering a special introductory, one-way fare of $49 which is available now on flyfrontier.com.
“We are proud to bring our unique brand of Low Fares Done Right to the Rio Grande Valley,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial for Frontier Airlines. “Harlingen marks our 6th city in Texas and a further demonstration of our commitment to making travel affordable nationwide. Frontier’s new flights to Chicago and Denver will make air travel more accessible and affordable for everyone traveling to or from the valley and South Padre Island.”
“Harlingen welcomes Frontier Airlines with open arms! I am sure everyone is excited to be able to fly nonstop to Denver and the connecting options it offers to reach additional markets. Nonstop service to Chicago, like Denver, will greatly benefit our business community, our Winter Texan friends as well as those visiting family and friends”, says Chris Boswell, Mayor of Harlingen.
“South Padre Island is very excited to welcome Frontier Airlines to the Rio Grande Valley via Harlingen. We look forward to working closely with the carrier to promote more tourism to the best beach in Texas. Denver and Chicago are popular visitor markets for us, and our Convention and Visitors Bureau is committed to attract more visitors from these two catchment areas with the new service”, says Dennis Stahl, Mayor of South Padre Island.
