New options for shopping and dining are coming to McAllen’s La Plaza Mall.
Parent company Simon today announced a number of new offerings opening this summer at La Plaza. New retailers and restaurants include Palenque Grill, Mori Japanese Grill and Cuidado Con El Perro, opening their first store in the United States.
“We are thrilled to have so many exciting announcements to share this summer,” said Isabel Rodriguez, director of marketing and business development at La Plaza. “These enhancements are designed with families, retailers, and visitors in mind, and we look forward to sharing this new and refined shopping experience with our loyal shoppers with the beginning of summer on the horizon.”
The first Cuidado Con El Perro in the United States will open at La Plaza this summer. A Mexican clothing brand inspired by urban lifestyle and focused on creating unique, trendy, and casual designs, Cuidado Con El Perro offers apparel for men, women and children including denim, sport, and swimwear. With over 200 stores in Mexico, the 9,957-square-foot store will open next to H&M.
Palenque Grill, a regional fan-favorite, has opened in the new expansion wing next to Yard House. Specializing in 100 percent Mexican food with flavors of the North Pacific Coast of Mexico that includes Sinaloa, Sonora, and North and South Baja California, the 6,818-square-foot restaurant will offer shoppers delicacies including enchiladas verdes, tacos dorados, and chile relleno.
Opening in June, Mori Japanese Grill offers diners a modern twist on centuries-old Japanese cooking techniques. Their signature style of preparing cuts of fish and meat over wood imparts delicious flavors to their notable offerings, including sushi, hot and cold appetizers, and a raw bar. The 7,087-square-foot restaurant will open next to Palenque Grill.
