On March 27, local nonprofit Infinite Love will host Anita Moorjani at the McAllen Convention Center where she will give her uplifting talk, “What if This is Heaven?”
Just over a decade ago, Anita was on the brink of losing her life, lying in a coma while doctors helped her battle end-stage cancer. During what seemed like her final hours, a near-death experience would result not only in her miraculous recovery but a remarkable change in her worldview that would lead her to travel the world and inspire millions.
Anita was moved to share her profound new insights in what went on to be her first New York Times best-selling book, Dying to Be Me. In this work, she describes how learning to love and accept herself unconditionally brought her back from death’s doorway.
In her new book, What if This is Heaven?, Anita challenges cultural beliefs that we pass on from generation to generation, such as the belief that we reap what we sow or that we should always be positive. Instead, Anita puts forth a call for being our authentic, happy, and honest selves, free from societal expectations. She shares a vision of life free of beliefs that no longer serve us and that keep us from living more fully.
