South Padre Island, TX – On Thursday, November 2nd, news of the San Antonio Spurs and South Padre Island partnership was announced at the South Padre Island Convention Center. The event brought about members of the media and SPI city officials, such as the mayor and members of the Convention & Visitors Bureau.
South Padre Island is a place that does not stop sparkling, either beneath the cover of clouds or under the warm Texas sun. It is the largest barrier island in the world. It is also the most popular island destination for the people in the state of Texas, featuring lucid blue waters, sandy beaches, warm weather, luxury resorts, and other tourist attractions. Emblematic of the Texan spirit for camaraderie, the partnership will help bring awareness to the Spurs, SPI, and the city of San Antonio. The Spurs are a world-class basketball team based out of San Antonio. They compete in the National Basketball League, more famously known as the NBA.
As part of the partnership’s promotional aspect, the Frost Bank Center, located in San Antonio and home of the Spurs, will feature SPI signs representative of the island.
