The Club at Cimarron

As you walk through the wooden doors that lead into the Club at Cimarron, you may get the feeling that you are in a high quality environment because you are.  It is a premier private country club unlike any other in the Valley, known for providing a truly unique experience for its members.

With a bar that caters to golfers called “BR’s 19th Hole,” to a recreational building which allows you access to an array of different social and physical activities, the club offers the finest in everything.  Members can let loose and enjoy what the facilities have to offer, such as the 18-hole championship golf course and an impressive tennis center.  Whether entertaining clients or spending the afternoon with family and friends, you are never short of things to do while you are there.

One of the great perks of becoming a club member is the fact that you have access to a plethora of food options and can order a la carte for casual and fine dining at an affordable price.  You can also dine and relax in the newly renovated restaurant, “Fusion,” with daily a la carte and bar menus, as well as buffet options on Thursday (Mexican theme), Friday (Seafood Extravaganza), or a Sunday brunch.  Or why not choose a finebottle of wine or even reserve a slot in the temperature-modified wine cabinet?  And in the evening, you can have an elegant dinner at Fusionwith a date or simply kick back and watch a sporting event with friends at the 19th Hole.

While dining plays a crucial role in the overall Cimarron experience, the extracurricular activities bring a fun and exciting flavor to the forefront of the club.  Membership Director Patty Rojas believes they provide the best that golf has to offer, because it happens to be one of the main attractions there.

“Golfers who have been taking advantage of our new state-of-the-art golfing system, the TrackMan, have improved their game in a matter of two weeks instead of what would have taken them two months, according to Golf Pro testimonials.  TrackMan gives you video, graphs, and stats on your performance, allowing you to make specific changes in your stance and in your swing, making you a better player.”

Along with this new high tech system, estimated at a whopping $26,000, there is an 8-acre practice range, 18-hole private courses, leagues, camps, developmental programs and instruction, as well as a Pro Shop where you can find just about anything you need in golfing gear and equipment.

Golf Professional Ruben Gomez is the in-house golfing instructor, who is the first Hispanic to own the TrackMan technology in the US, and nowhere south of Houston can you find it anywhere else other than at the Club at Cimarron.

“The machine I use produces a large amount of statistics, so I don’t like to give my members too much information, but I try to be specific on three major parts like the mechanics of the swing, exaggerating or placing less emphasis on a particular movement, and basically anything else that I feel they could use to improve their performance.  It’s a great device.”

If Ruben is not working closely with seasoned golfers trying to improve their game using this remarkable tool, he’s working with beginners such as children and novices to help them excel on the course.

“Twice a month we try to have a SNAG (someone new at golf) clinic, and it’s a fun way to get kids engaged into actually making golf swings while promoting the game and hopefully getting more people out there playing.  It’s a proven statistic that golf’s popularity is going down due to a changing economy, so I believe this kind of program helps keep the interest in the game alive.”

When you’re not busy taking advantage of what the club has to offer in golfing, as a member, you have access to a recreational center fully equipped with four indoor racquetball courts and eight lighted outdoor tennis courts, a 25 yard Olympic pool with available swim lessons, a fitness and wellness area that gives you access to free weights and cardio equipment, as well as a personal trainer upon request.  For people looking for a different kind of fitness alternative, there is group instruction for Zumba, Aqua Zumba, spinning, step aerobics, dance fusion, pump yogalates, and karate – definitely something for everyone according to Athletic Director Barb Mikrut.

“We open our doors at 5:30 am and close at 10 pm, so we give people plenty of access to the facility between those times whenever they need it, and they can join any fitness program they like.  Members can also leave their children in a supervised area where they can play and hang out until they get picked up, and we provide swimming lessons and summer camp for them which goes on all summer long.”

The Club at Cimarron is a high quality country club that is not only family oriented but also very driven to help members conduct successful business meetings.  It is a place where members receive warm welcomes, experience magic moments, and remember fond farewells.  At the Club at Cimarron, you will make friends for a lifetime, and you will see your family grow and your business will flourish.
