Sisters Melinda and D’Ann Garcia see more than bright lights in the future of their family business, Illuminations, of McAllen. The Garcias’ father worked in construction for 20 years. He saw a real need in the Rio Grande Valley for a lighting service that catered to builders. He had been on the other side and used those years of experience to get the business started. What began as a small McAllen location in the fall of 2000 has grown into a further-expanding showroom that continues to work alongside contractors and home owners to light rooms to dazzling perfection. Their practice of quality customer service has new clients and repeat customers alike coming to Illuminations for their lighting needs.

The Garcias attend two industry shows a year to bring new ideas and concepts in lighting back to the Valley. In early 2012, Illuminations plans to expand and open a second location in Brownsville.
